*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 07/24/2020
Shakespeare Exploration is a conservatory-styled camp that provides an advanced experience for returning and new teen campers. Students will experience in-depth acting work highlighting vocal, physical, and acting techniques used in performing Shakespeare. Campers will focus on acting exercises, text analysis, and rehearsal of monologues and performance material for their VIRTUAL sharing for family and friends upon the completion of camp.

Help your child connect with an artistic community of other kids this summer. Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is bringing its signature Shakespeare summer camps straight to your living room VIRTUALLY. Your camper will collaborate, create, learn language and presentation skills, build confidence, and HAVE FUN – ALL FROM HOME!

  • In our interactive and creative virtual classroom, students will explore Shakespeare’s plays, life, and times, as well as learn acting techniques to help bring the text to life. Camp includes team building, visual art, storytelling, and MORE!
  • Professional teaching artists will lead campers through the day via live sessions, individualized coaching, and interactive projects.
  • Using Zoom meetings, students will experience virtual camp as part of a group with a ratio of 15 students to one teacher.
  • Camps will concentrate on process-based lesson plans to focus on the growth of each student individually and as an ensemble.
  • Camp days will offer a healthy mix of online rehearsals and coaching as well as individual projects students can work on offline.
  • A Camp Kit with materials for your camper will be safely delivered to your door prior to the first day. You will receive art supplies, craft templates, and camper handbooks. If you are outside a 25 mile radius of our office we will mail your supplies to you or send you a list of needed materials.
  • Camps will culminate in virtual presentations for friends and families to enjoy.
  • Campers will need access to a smart phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection.
