The objective of ArtReach is to provide opportunities for self-expression and communication through the visual arts. Each hands-on workshop is designed for a particular age group and relates to specific works of art on view.
Participants learn how to work with different media and gain knowledge of elements of art while being introduced to a specific artist’s art and inspiration, then create an original work of art based on the skills learned in the workshop. All materials provided.
Session 5: Biogeomorphic Abstract Sculpture
Paul Henry Ramirez’s artwork is described as “biogeomporphic abstraction” to tell of the mix of biomorphic (organic) and geometric shapes in his artwork. After looking at Ramirez’s biogeomorphic art installation in Kemper Museum’s atrium, ArtReach workshop participants will reimagine his colorful and playful 2D designs as sculptures!
