Trucks and Big Rigs for Kids at Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park
Have you ever wondered what the inside of that big rig or tractor looks like? Do you have a child who LOVES trucks? Bring them out to the parking lot of the Theatre in the Park, located in beautiful Shawnee Mission Park, to explore trucks, tractors, construction, and city vehicles up close.

Crawl, climb, and sit in the driver's seat and talk with the real life operators of these vehicles. Check out the featured character tow truck, as well as many other kids favorites. The first hour of the event (10-11 am) will be sensory-friendly with no horns or sirens for those who prefer this event a bit quieter.
Admission to this three-hour event is free, but a donation of $10 per family is suggested at the gate. Donations at the event and through The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Johnson County support JCPRD’s Adaptive Recreation and Special Olympics programs.
