SciFun Camp - President's Day Camp: Science in the 18th Century

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 02/19/2024
In the 18th century, scientists were called natural philosophers. Many of them dabbled in lots of different subjects - think Benjamin Franklin - and were the pop stars of their day. This was a time of great advancements in scientific understanding and experiments. Today, over 200 years later, we still owe modern technologies to the experiments conducted by these innovators. Everyday life in the 18th century required a lot of hands-on work, whether it involved making your own clothes or making your own butter from your own cow on your own farm. Here too, there are opportunities to learn the science of this time and see how things were made. For elementary school ages.
