"Kansas Wild Kids," our local Junior Extension Master Naturalist Program, provides youth ages 7-14 opportunities to learn more about our natural resources and planetary neighbors. The program instills a spirit of stewardship in children through engaging, hands-on, conservation-related lessons on Kansas' wildlife and waterways, snakes and spiders, pollinators and plants.
Students explore and discover the natural environment of Johnson County with fun, hands-on experiences! Each camp will focus on different aspects of nature and teach youngsters about animals, insects, trees and more.
It’s time to learn all about the insects around us. We’ll also explore the plants and trees they live on. Come prepared for an adventure in nature that will bring you up close to some of Kansas’ smaller creatures. Time for crafts and games are included. Shawnee Mission Park Ages 7-12 are welcome! Registration Fee - $5
